Our annual flag day dinner is quickly approaching. We are so excited this year to have 2 speakers. Our keynote speaker will be our very own County Clerk, and candidate for County Executive Cheryl DiNolfo. Additionally, we have Lori Sousa guest speaking. She is professor of social work at Roberts Wesleyan College. We will be hearing about the history and values behind the American Flag, mingle with this year’s candidates, meet new friends and share with you some exciting updates. There will be a basket raffle, and of course our presentation of the Outstanding Republican Women award - you won’t want to miss this year’s honoree.

Please RSVP by calling me at 944-6383.

Also, feel free to share this invite with any friends.

~Ashley

News

Dear Members and Friends,
We are looking forward to an exciting year! As you know, we will be holding our first of several general meetings for the year on February 25th at GOP Headquarters. Our goal is to present more opportunities for involvement within the Club and within the Republican Party. These gatherings will provide a place for you to hear more about what we are doing, and to engage in discussion on current issues and races, and in doing so, determine where you might fit in! I can assure you there is a role for everyone who is interested. And we have a big year ahead of us, with the entire Monroe County Legislature on the ballot as well as our County Executive race! We need boots on the ground, and that is where you come in!
There are also many of you I have not had the chance to meet yet, so I am hopeful for a good turnout at our first meeting. And as always, please consider inviting someone new. There are so many women out there who would like to get involved but just don’t know where to start. You can offer them that first step!
Here’s to an exciting and successful 2015! See you soon!
Anna Valeria-Iseman
President, Monroe County Republican Women

2014 Report

2014 was exciting year for us.  We re-branded ourselves and hosted several, very successful events. The Monroe County Republican Women’s Club will work to provide a network for women to stay connected while supporting their Town Committees.
In line with our new mission, we hosted our brand new Flag Day dinner.  Due to this effort, we were able to financially bless our speakers, who each ran very successful campaigns.  Senator Rich Funke overthrew incumbent Ted O’Brien of the 55th District, and Gates Town Supervisor, Mark Assini, ran an exciting race, and nearly ousted longtime incumbent Louise Slaughter.
This past winter, our Club experienced another first.  With the support of our City GOP leader, we hosted our very first candidate meet and greet.  Thanks to Tom Fiorilli to opening up his home, we were able to hear from Senator Mike Ranzenhofer, County Legislator Tony Micciche, town leaders Jim Roose and Steve Brew, and County Executive candidate our County Clerk Cheryl DiNolfo.  Thanks to this event, we had several new, prospective committee members and we will launch off the momentum of this event to host several more in the coming year.  If you interested in being a part of this movement, please reach out to Anna and relay your interest!
Another thanks goes out to Mary D’Allesandro, one of our Club’s vice presidents.  She opened up her home to host our Christmas party, which was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect and celebrate this past year.

2015 Expectations

This year will be a very busy year locally.  Every single County Legislature seat will be on the ballot, we will also have a race for County Executive, and there will be a vote for who our Supreme Court Justices will be. There will be plenty of opportunities for volunteering.  We will do our best to keep you informed, but the best way to stay connected is through each of your own committees.  If you are not currently a committee member in your local town or in the city, please reach out to your leaders.  If you don’t know who your leader is, please contact Ashley to find out.
