The Brookhaven Town Republican Women’s Club held their 2010 Installation of Officers on Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Port Jefferson Village Center. Theabove listed new officers were installed at that time.
Our May 2009 meeting was very interesting, Jim Ryan, Brookhaven Town Assessor, explained the mechanics of assessments and how to grieve your tax bill. Many of you left with packets of information to help you gain. a better understanding of the assessment process. I hope you’ll continue to suggest new speakers. Jim certainly held our attention.
Suffolk County Republican Committee nominated several Brookhaven candidates for the Suffolk County Legislature including LD 1 - Legislator Ed Romaine, LD 3 - Carol Bissonette, LD 4 - Tom Muratore, LD 5 - Peter Busacca, LD 6 - Legislator Dan Losquadro, and LD 7 - Dean Murray. We wish them success with their candidacy and know that many of our members will be busy this year working on legislative campaigns.

The club presents two scholarships, each for $250 at their annual Equality Day Event in August. This year BTWRC hosted their 2nd Annual Equality Day event on August 26th at West Lake. Once again a spirited reenactment of the Suffragette Struggle of 89 years ago was lead by Cecile Forte, Candidate for Brookhaven Town Clerk. Joining in the fun were two young suffragettes Hana & Alyssa. The BTWRC scholarship was presented to Jeanneane Fasciana, daughter of member and Committeewoman Kelly Fasciana. Former Committeewoman and proud Grandma, Lorraine Hulse, traveled from upstate to attend the event. Ticket proceeds for this event went directly to Citizens for Cecile Forte. The Club thanks County Clerk Judy Pascale, Judge Flannagan, Councilman Keith Romaine, Nicole DeLuca and Club Officers Andrea, Sharon, Jill, and Pauline who donated gift baskets and Vincent Martorana our sponsor. We thank all our supporters. Your contributions go a long way to help candidates and our Committee. This year BTWRC will utilize the funds that were raised to support Chairman Garcia with a full-page ad in the Committee’s 2009 journal.

Donating to Republican Women BTWRC’s 5 & 10 Campaign
As you know, Republican women candidates struggle for every penny they raise. Brookhaven Town Republican Women’s Club is committed in supporting Brookhaven women who run for town or county offices. While it is often difficult to contribute financially by attending events, the BTWRC Executive Board feels that given an opportunity to make a small contribution, our members will support Chairman Garcia in getting our candidates elected.
We hope you will send a donation you can afford to our women candidates and also hope you will find a way to assist with other candidate races.
Please make your checks payable directly to the candidates campaign.
