Our President
Our 25th President, Annette Collins-Ferrara was elected President of the New York State Federation of Republican Women in April 2009 to a two-year term.
She is well prepared to perform the duties of President, having previously served as Summer Conference Co-Chair, Legislation Chair, 10th JD Director, Recording Secretary and First Vice President. Annette has been involved with NYSFRW for over twenty years and has attended NFRW Conventions and meetings. She has also been a long time member of the Nassau County FRW and chaired many of their committees and events before being elected to the youngest and longest serving President of her club.
Annette believes in leading by example. She also believes that a president should communicate the responsibilities of each office to every officer and committee chair serving with her. With the experience and guidance of their president to assist them, the officers and board members should be well equipped to perform their duties.
President Annette has served as a Nassau County Republican Committeewoman and has served in various offices for the Hicksville Republican Club, the Nassau County FRW and the NYSFRW, and the Long Island Federation of Women’s Clubs. She has also attended RNC conventions and “Women Who Win” seminars. Local civic and community organizations have always been on her agenda as well.
Annette is employed by the Town of Oyster Bay as the Assistant to the Commissioner of Human Resources for Administration. While tending to all of her duties and responsibilities involving personnel, labor-management relations and benefits for over 2,000 employees, Annette has been working on her BS/MPA Degree at C.W. Post College. Before moving over to the Human Resources Department, Annette worked her way up the ladder in the offices of the Town Attorney and Town Supervisor. While working at a law firm as a legal secretary 35 years ago, Annette was recruited into public service. She is now contemplating retirement at the end of this year, which will give her more availability and time to work for the NYSFRW!
